Now that it’s April 2, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. The most annoying “holiday” is over. I’m just going to go ahead and say what everyone is thinking: no one thinks your fake pregnancies and/or engagements are funny. Seriously. BUT I have to say there were a few brands who really pulled out all the stops this year. Here are some of my favorites!
Hulu Pets featuring The Real Pugs of Portland, Bone Appetit, The Mew, The Bark, Laser Pointer: The Series, Wheel of Furtune, Follow the Ferrets, Having a Ball, The Daily Feed and Clawed City. Do yourself a favor and watch all the trailers because they’re marvelous.
PlayStation Flow – “When you get to a swimming environment in your game, simply pause the game, sync your PlayStation Flow goggles, grab your flow sensors, then head to your nearest swimming pool and dive right back into the action.” My favorite part is the PlayStation Flow body dryer. Oh and the girl swimming on her couch.
DeviantArt Style IRL – A stylus…in real life. It’s a pen.
DisneyDining – This one definitely got me for a hot second!
Grouber – Groupon’s new transportation service that puts trusty cats behind the wheel!
These last two are my personal faves!
Funny or Die Dips – Although the idea is absurd, the execution is actually pretty wonderful. Do yourself a favor and check them out. If you only want to watch a few I recommend Jon Hamm, Charlie Day, Patton Oswalt and Rob Lowe, Ellie Kemper, Will Arnett, Weird Al, Aidy Bryant, Nick Kroll, Michael Bolton and Artemis Pebdani.
NYX Unibrow – With brows being all the rage right now, this one really had me rolling. Not only is it brilliant, it’s well thought out and executed. They sent a full email blast, there’s a YouTube video and you can even buy the product online – conveniently enough, it’s sold out. I can’t find anything that actually says it’s an April Fool’s prank, which makes it the best kind of April Fool’s prank.
And the winner for lamest April Fool’s “prank” goes to Modcloth. If you’re not going to put any thought into it, just don’t do one.
Alright, so sound off in the comments! What was your favorite April Fool’s prank? Any annoying fake engagements on social media? Thankfully I only saw three, so I’m going to call that a win….
