This month’s Diversity Chic was sponsored by 7 Charming Sisters, but like every other post you read here, all opinions are my own. ????

Necklace: c/o 7 Charming Sisters | Jacket: Forever 21 (on sale here! I’m wearing a medium) | Bodysuit: Boohoo (sold out, similar bodysuits here) | Skirt: Boohoo (sold out, but lots of similar skirts here) | Tights: Forever 21 (don’t buy them, they had holes before I even put them on) | Shoes: Bought secondhand (old) | Photos by Stephanie Drenka

Some of my favorite elementary school memories are from Valentine’s Day! For some reason (even though I was TERRIFIED to get a Valentine from a boy who might like me), I just loved the parties! They were so festive and you got to give everyone in your class a gift! I also really loved picking out Valentine’s for each person. One year I had Spice Girls Valentines, so obviously that year wins. Honestly, I’m not that big of a Valentine’s Day girl now. I loved it WAY more as a kid. It’s just too much pressure, too much planning and too stressful. My husband and I always keep it low key. This year I’m going to (attempt) to make a nice dinner! Will report back on that later.

Because I’m not suuuuper into Valentine’s Day, when we decided to do Valentine’s Day looks for Diversity Chic, I knew I would go for a more edgy Valentine’s Day look. I paired a bodysuit and skater skirt I already had with some lace up combat booties, heart print tights and (for a dose of Valentine’s Day color), my brand spankin’ new Bowie jacket. Swoon. Can I just celebrate Valentine’s Day with this jacket? No? Okay.

Psst if you’re a blogger, don’t forget to link up you’re Valentine’s Day looks below! And even if you’re not, use the hashtag #diversitychic for your looks so we can see them!

The thing that really ties the look together is the gorgeous necklace I’m wearing from 7 Charming Sisters. When this company reached out to me, I knew it would be a PERFECT way to top off this look. It’s a fabulous combination of edgy and romantic and sooooo me. I also love that it doesn’t feel cheap but it’s also not super heavy – some of my statement necklaces are so heavy they literally hurt my neck!

The fun thing about 7 Charming Sisters is their jewelry is meant to appeal to lots of different personalities and styles. This is straight from their About Us page:

Bonded like sisters
How can seven individuals with distinctly strong personalities work together?
We all have different tastes and ideas, but in the end we come together and support one another. It works because even though we are different we share a common goal- To create a collection of FABulous jewelry. What could be more fun than that? This should be hard work, but it ends up being fun. We support each other and we are stronger because of our individuality.
So perfect for Diversity Chic, right?! We each took the quiz and chose a piece from our collection. If I’m being totally honest, I was way too excited when I got “The Fashionista” lol. Don’t forget to check out the posts from Stephanie, Sevi and Denise to see what pieces from 7 Charming Sisters they chose!
  • What “sister” are you? Take the quiz and then let me know!
  • What are you wearing for Valentine’s Day?

  1. Took the quiz- Super Mom

It’s a bird? It’s a plane? No, it’s Super Woman! Whether you’re a super mom or just generally all around super, the Melissa lines are the perfect accessories to match your cape! You’re into wearable jewelry that transitions from work to school events without a fuss. With everything you have to do, you don’t have time for nonsense. Stay sharp and stylish with the Melissa collection.

I literally wear two rings. Aggie ring on the right ring finger, wedding band/ring on the left ring finger. I think I have 3-4 necklaces. All long chain (about 19-20″) to wear with solid/plain color tops. I don’t care for bracelets or watches because I have large wrists and bracelets feel uncomfortable. Earrings, I only wear studs. Something neutral I can leave in and goes with everything. I sleep and shower with them. Very low-maintenance! lol I guess I’m kind of boring when it comes to jewelry.

    1. Hey there’s nothing wrong with that! You know what you like and what works for you. I’ve been wearing a lot of longer, dainty necklaces in real life (not as much on the blog bc they don’t show up in photographs as well). Also on a daily basis I pretty much only wear my second hole studs because I’m lazy and I have sensitive ears so I can’t wear “fun” earrings on a daily basis.

  2. I’ve been looking forward to this post since you first teased it. Oh my lanta, that Bowie jacket is too too good! You all nailed it with your looks. I linked up my Valentine’s Day outfit so you can see it from there. My personality type ended up being “Life of the Party”. Uhhh… I go to like one party a year and usually hang by the food. lol They have some super cute jewelry though so I’ll forgive them for the error in judgement. 😉

    1. Yay I’m so happy you linked up! About to go read your post now. And I can totallyyyyyy imagine you as the life of the party, just has to be the right type of party. Like an awesome retro slumber party! haha

  3. I am of course the wonderful social butterfly. Not shocked at all. I love your edgy Valentine’s Day look and wouldn’t expect anything else from you.

  4. I got All American Girl, which fits pretty well with my style I think. I loved browsing the collection that matched me and found a few things I’m coming back for!

I have been so excited about this post and the link up since it was announced! I can’t wait to see what next month brings so we can keep linking up. Also, I am in love with your Valentines look. I’ve been hunting for some heart tights so I might need to snatch those up.
