diversity-chic-jamberry-2131This month we’re doing something a little different for Diversity Chic, but just to recap in case you’re new (hi!), here’s what we’re all about:

Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style.

Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.

Instead of focusing on an article of clothing, this month we’re showcasing Jamberry nail wraps. If you follow me on Instagram, you might already know that I’m a huge fan of Jamberry. I was introduced to Jamberry over two years ago – I put on my first set of wraps before a family vacation in Florida. We spent every day in a lake and by the end of the vacation, my nails were still perfectly in tact. They totally won me over. Since then, I’ve worn Jamberrys on the reg and I’m still just as in love with the product as I was two years ago.

When Jamberry reached out to me and said they wanted to work with the Diversity Chic ladies, I was thrilled! I knew this would be a really fun opportunity for us but I was even more excited when I learned about the wraps we would be wearing. Yes, these are cute pink wraps, but they serve a much more important purpose. The #TellYourStory wraps are part of Jamberry’s Commitment to Charity – for each set of wraps sold, Jamberry will donate $2 to the American Cancer Society.

Just saying the word “cancer” takes the air out of a room. Unfortunately I have lost two step grandfathers and one grandfather due to complications from cancer. I had a bit of a scare myself earlier this year at the dermatologist when I had to have a mole removed and biopsied (guys, pleeeeease get your annual skin check – it’s so important!) Thankfully I was in the clear but it was definitely a wake up call!

Cancer is not biased – we are all at risk. Hopefully someday it will be a thing of the past, for now we just have to live the best lives we can and continue to donate to the organizations and research facilities that are doing good. I’m so thankful for companies like Jamberry that choose to put their money where their mouth is and donate to charities that are making a difference.
