With the upcoming holiday season, I know we all love to up our makeup game….but sometimes that can be complicated. This holiday eye makeup look is easy to recreate (I promise!) and perfect for any holiday occasion, whether it’s a small family gathering or a formal office party! I love this look because it makes the eyes look wide open and will work for any eye shape.
Take care of the eyes
No matter how gorgeous your makeup looks, dry, itchy, irritated eyes can totally ruin your vibe. When my eyes are irritated, I like to start my makeup routine with Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ Multi-Symptom drops. Just like your face needs to me moisturized before applying makeup, you have to take care of your eyes too! Most eye drops have preservatives in them, but Clear Eyes®, the #1 selling brand of eye drops, now has the first preservative-free eye drop in a multi-dose bottle available for retail in the USA. They provide up to 12 hours of relief so you’ll be able to party late into the night without worry!
Prep the face
First up, do your face makeup like you would normally do. Foundation, brows, and blush are essential (in my opinion) but feel free to add contour and highlight, bronzer and anything else you’d like! This is a holiday look so feel free to go dramatic if you’d like. Make SURE you prime your eyelids though! We don’t want that shadow and liner moving around.
Apply eyeshadow
(1) First, apply a neutral shadow (close to the color of your skin) all over the lid. This will make blending the crease much easier. (2) Next, apply a matte brown eyeshadow to the crease, sweeping the shadow back and forth with a brush until the color is well blended. (3) Then, use your finger or a flat brush to pat on gold sparkly eyeshadow on the lid to brighten the eye. Go back over the crease to blend the gold and brown – you can add more of the brown shadow if needed but you should be okay without it. (4) Apply a highlight (or light shimmery shadow) just below the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eyes. You can use your fingers for that step, too! (5) Then apply the same matte brown shade on the lower lash line in place of eyeliner.
Get your winged liner on
After applying shadows, finish the eye with black winged liner on top. I like to use a black gel liner and build the wing out until it’s the desired length. Don’t be afraid to go dramatic!
Lash it up!
If you’re wearing false lashes, apply a small amount of mascara to your top and bottom lashes. Then follow up with your false lashes (just don’t forget to let your glue dry for 30 seconds before placing them on your eyes!) Most lash glue dries clear but it does take a while (10-15 mins) so make sure you have time for that! If you’ve opted to leave the lashes off, build up your mascara for some drama!
Pucker up
Lastly, we’re going to finish with the lips! I always love a true red lip for holiday parties, but choose something that will be long wearing and won’t transfer while you socialize. Red can be pretty high maintenance – I recommend applying lip liner over your entire lip *before* applying lipstick and go with something matte so it won’t move around. If you’d rather not worry about a red lip, a neutral lip will look great, too! The sparkly gold eye says “holiday,” even without a red lip!
Don’t forget to pick up your Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ Multi-Symptom or Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ for Dry Eyes drops. I grabbed mine on my most recent Target run – they even have a Cartwheel deal going on for 25% off (now through 11/26)!
