I. Love. The. 80s. Now I have to admit, I don’t love them as much as my friend Hannah, but I do love them! Seeing more modern 80s trends pop up on the runways combined with the resurgence of 80s in pop culture with tv shows like Stranger Things, The Goldbergs and GLOW, has me looking for ways to incorporate some of those trends into my everyday life.
SO when I started thinking about Halloween, I knew I wanted my costume to be 80s themed. GLOW was such an amazing show (helloooo girl power!), and I was totally enthralled by the costumes, makeup and hair. I love that you got to see the “everyday” looks but then we also got full on glam, especially in the wrestling dream sequence. I knew I had found my perfect Halloween costume (and of course I was going glam because duh).
The thing I love about the look is that it’s easy, but it’s also authentic. I have seen a lot of “80s inspired” looks but the makeup techniques used are really modern, especially with the eyeshadow. None of that here. The good news is, 80s makeup is REALLY easy because it’s all about being bold, you don’t have to worry as much about being a great blender lol.
