The seasons have changed and so have the contents of my bag! I haven’t done a “what’s in my bag” post in ages, and the warm weather means I’m switching up what I carry with me on a daily basis. (Can you tell I’m excited the weather is finally warming up in Denver? lol) I’m leaving out things like keys and a phone because….duh, of course they’re in my bag, and instead focusing on items that might be helpful for you to know about. Here are some of my “must have at all times” products!

Psst…make sure to enter the sweepstakes at the bottom of this post to win a $500 Visa gift card, DivaCup Prize Pack and more!

Sunglasses

I know, I know….duh. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left my sunglasses at home (even though I have like ten pairs), so now keeping one pair in my bag is a MUST for me. Protect those eyes, y’all!

Two lip product options

I’m a woman who loves options, so I always keep at LEAST two lip products with me at all times. I love carrying around a gloss (or in this case a lip oil) that I can just throw on, even without a mirror. I also make sure to have a good, nude lipstick with me! Something that is neutral enough to go with any eye look (or no eye makeup), but that will help me up the sass factor if I need to. I’ve switched to a *slightly* warmer nude to go along with the warmer temperatures and I’m LOVING it!

Mini deodorant

There’s nothing quite like the “oh my gosh, is that smell ME?!” feeling, eh? To keep it at bay, I like to carry around a mini stick of deodorant. I know sometimes reapplying doesn’t work, but it’s usually worth a shot especially if you’re going to be outdoors for a while.

Translucent powder and sponge for touchups

Things that are annoying: spending a bunch of time on your makeup, only to have it melt off your face. Sigh. To help reduce that possibility, I bring along a pressed, translucent powder and sponge to touch up my makeup throughout the day. Even if I’m not wearing foundation, it can be helpful in sucking up some of that excess oil that comes out to play in the summer 🙂

Portable phone charger

Warmer weather and longer days means more time for activities! It also means you’ll probably be snapping photos and listening to music, so make sure to have a portable phone charger handy. Some people are probably rolling their eyes at this but hey, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared!

DivaCup

I’m all about reducing stress and simplifying processes, so I’ve opted to switch to the DivaCup and it’s definitely a MUST have in my bag. It can be stressful making sure you have all the right products for when your menstrual cycle starts, and with the DivaCup I can just keep it in my bag and not have to worry about having any additional products with me. It’s lightweight and portable, and easy to pack no matter how big or small my bag is. It also eliminates waste left behind by more traditional period products (no wrappers, strings, etc) and will save me tons of money in the long run (the average cost of traditional period products is $150/year, the DivaCup is $39.99)! I also LOVE how convenient it is – I don’t have to panic about the last time I changed it, because it will last for 12 hours! I put it in when I wake up, and by the time I get home from work (or brunch, errands, hiking, swimming, whatever I have going on that day), the DivaCup is still doing it’s job!

Believe it or not, 91% of women who switch to the DivaCup never go back to traditional products! I really believe that so many of us *only* hear about tampons and pads, so we aren’t even aware of menstrual cups and how beneficial they are. They’ve existed since the 1930s but are really just now starting to get their due! Be sure to read the User Guide before trying the cup and to consult with your healthcare provider if you have any questions with regards to their vaginal or gynecological health.

Get ahead of the curve, stop by your local retailer and pick up a DivaCup for yourself! I found mine at my local Walgreens with the rest of the menstruation products – super easy! Don’t forget to enter to win the DivaCup Trivia Sweepstakes below….good luck!

  1. I switched to a divacup last year and I LOVE it. It is so convenient and it really does reduce waste, costs, etc. I usually end up having a spare tampon in my bag since they are more compact and in case I meet another person in need of a menstrual product. I also notices a massive reduction in the amount of cramps I experienced when I started using it and I hear that it’s not uncommon for that to happen.

    1. Harper I LOVE that!!!! I had no idea about some people experiencing less cramps, that’s wonderful! It seems like such a small thing but seriously, menstrual products create a tremendous amount of waste and every little thing we can do to help makes a world of difference. Thank you for sharing! <3
